Hi Mike,

I really love the Billy Gibbons artist study you put together!

I'm having a bit of trouble with the rhythm or strumming pattern at around timestamp 4:22. It's really frustrating but I know it's probably a simple fix to do it right. I just can't seem to get it to sound right. Can you help?

Thanks Mike!!

Bill

Hi Bill, this is an example of a shuffle or swung blues rhythm, where you are creating a bouncy groove. I recommend checking out the following tutorial on how to feel this groove:

https://www.guitartricks.com/lesson.php?input=21249&s_id=1701

Anders takes you through the counting and how this feels extensively.

Also, check out the tutorial for La Grange for more on this kind of rhythm:

Taking it slow and making sure you're really feeling the difference between a straight groove and a shuffle groove will make all the difference. Let me know how it goes!

Thanks Mike! Those lessons were a huge help. Especially the lesson on the swing feel. I think I just about have it down.

Thanks again for the help!
