Like most guitars my guitar makes noises but recently it makes a noise at regular intervals. Like 2 times a second. It almost sounds like someone clapping slowly. It's not exactly a hum or a buzz but a sharp noise like clapping. What can I do?

Are you sure the sound comes from your guitar?

I'd be more inclined to suspect something in your amplifier is arcing, especially if its a tube amp. Get it checked out.

Could it be pickguard static?, some people produce static electricity in dragging their fingers on the guard while they play (Fender type). It's fairly easy to eliminate this question and reground the guard.

Accuracy,you say? hmm interesting concept..

Is your amp a transistor amp with built in effects, like a chorus?

I know it's the guitar because I tried it with other guitars. The amp is not a tube amp or a transister amp with built in effects. But the pickguard static maybe true except it would happen at exact intervals whether or not I'm touching the guitar.

Have you tried your guitar with other amps? Does this happen every place you play or only at home, only in a certain room, your guitar has to be picking this noise up from something...........

Have you ever noticed if any household appliances are running when this is happening? Have you had your guitar or amp to a shop for a check-up and has this ever happened outside of your home?

Line all of your rooms with aluminum foil. :)

Or take both your guitar and your amp to a tech. I really want to know what this turns out to be.

I think maybe your guitar is picking up alien communications which are plans to invade Earth. Like that one movie "Signs." Did anyone else see that, where they were picking the signal up on the baby monitor. Man that's a creepy movie. It's better seeing it the second time, though. And now I'm getting on another subject, so I'll stop talking.
Rock and roll ain't noise pollution, but it can get pretty crappy these days.
