I love jazzy tones. Something in style of Martin Taylor. [br]I know my guitar won't be sounding like His, because I have telecaster Thinline, but I heard that flatwound string are the best for jazz. Is it true? [br]Which of these sets would You recommend for telecaster?

Hi takiomail444,

I can't speak for what type of strings you should use for Jazz, but just from my experience, D'Addario strings have always been fantastic for just about anything. They are quality strings.

Flatwound strings are a pretty big change if you are used to any kind of regular wound strings.

If you are aiming for jazz tone on a Telecaster for playing chord melody (Martin Taylor, Jor Pass, etc.), I'd recommend a relatively heavy set of regualr strings, then use the neck pickup & turn down the tone knob a lot. Like almost to zero!

I use my Strat on a lot of jazz material & I can definitely get a decent warm jazz tone by using heavier strings, the neck pickup & keeping the tone bassy.

I used a Strat for these tunes.

Hope that helps! Have fun finding your jazz tone!
