Hi there!

Just started learning the guitar this january. I´m 28 years old.[br][br]

I havent had much time to practice lately. And it bothers me. Feel like I have gone back to the beginning with my guitar playing Ć°ÅøĖœÅ¾

- Anyways. I just started playing with a pick. And Im having a hard time. Especially with string skipping. (As you can see in my Cissy Strut video)

- Also feel like i dont have any progress with chord changes and strumming.

The chord changes are a bit slow and messy. And when I change chords it sounds like I do a pulloff. (See Hey Joe and Last Kiss videos)

Just started recording myself today for tracking progress.

Hope you can check the videos and give me some tips

I am 64 years old and use to play 40 years ago. Thourghly enjoyed it! Marriage, kids and job got in the way. I am re retired now, and have picked up a couple of guitars and amps and the mojo is back! Don't ever quit, and if you have some time laps don't get discourged. Start when ever you can,

Rick

I try to get atleast 5 minutes of practice done before i go to work in the morning. Also try to get some practice when my 3year old is sleeping. Would like to take lessons, but there are no guitar teachers in my town. :(

I have absolutely no right to comment - green as I am, but I wonder if attempting songs is maybe a little too adventurous right now.

Maybe focus on two or three essential chords, (say Em G and Am), and work purely to get them clean and quick. Then focus on strumming technique later, then move on.. For me, (originally), this took weeks.

I think you are off to a good start. Looks like you only been at it about 10 weeks.

It will gets better the more you relax..

May I ask why you can't practice when your 3 year old is awake..

good luck and happy pickin'

Gordon

Hi there!

I can practice when she is awake, but she comes crawling on my lap and like to hold over the strings so they are muted, and then she laughs :P
