Hi

Thought I'd say hi

Also that I'm nearly finished thrashing my cheap ass, 20yr old, second hand guitar through Fund 1 course and just wanted to say thanks Guitar Tricks, its going well!

That tip at the start about the learning process (i.e. tune, warm up, play something fun, work on something etc etc), and frequency of practice, was just gold!

Its been tricky toughing up the finger tips, and nailing the chord changes but am now starting to jam along to some fun wee songs (in key of C ;) ) to fine tune chord changes and its just getting more and more fun!

Now to start saving for a flash harry sound stick because this is awesome fun

Cheers

Cool! Hope you stay with it!

If you someday don't know, how to go on, I would recommend finding a great guitar teacher.

Keep it up! You chose the coolest instrument. :)

Yep pretty stoked with choosing guitar

Cool, thanks for the wee tip there!

That question has been sitting at the back of my mind while working though this course.

welcome rgibson, and hope your having fun. I am somewhat of a beginner myself, so let me tell you what I currently have and suggestions as far as axes go. I dont have a lot of money, so I currently own the Keith Urban Night Star solid body electric, and maybe I simply lucked out but it came with a great low action right from the start, and I didnt have to do anything except replace the strings with Dadarrio 10 46 xl 110 light gauge. I also bought a Yamaha FGX 800 C from Guitar center for 250.00 and its great for a quality guitar that I can have for years when learning. Its an acoustic electric. I will be saving up money to buy a top quality guitar in the future, but I feel until I consider myself a true guitar player, I am waiting. I will eventually reward myself with a Gibson Les Paul. My 2 cents. thanks

Welcome rgibson,

It's great that you are having fun learning the guitar. That's what it is all about.

You will learn loads of stuff using this course and, over time, you will find yourself discovering aspects of guitar playing that may lead you in directions you never thought of in the beginning.

You will also start developing your own style of playing.

The big word is PRACTICE. The more you practice the better you become.Really try hard to get the basics under your belt and.......don't rush. Take your time to be as accurate as you can, make each note ring out. But don't make it a chore. If you make mistakes, and there will be plenty of those,.

I wish you well in saving up for a nice guitar and keep us informed on your learning progress.

All the best.

Joe
