Why is it that guitar tricks has been so slow in getting tabs on screen with lessons. When i look around the utube there are plenty of sites that do this and i don't have to pay a cent. Cifras club is a great example apart from language barrier, but with tabs I dont need to understand their language. Also it would help with timing when playing lead or song. Now this all can be done. Yes it costs money but we pay for it. On top of that it would probably improve their sales quite considerably. So this would be a win win for everyone. Otherwise this site is fantastic but could still improve. I have suggested this before but seems to fall on deaf ears.

Pardon me. I don't exactly follow your complaint here. All the lessons I've used in GT (quite many lessons) have tablatures included. There might be some beginner lessons about creating chords or strumming without tablature, but they usually have digrams included.

Have you noticed that tablatures for each lesson are available on NOTATION tab under the video?

Regards,
Jarkko

Not only do the lessons have tablatures but they also have backing tracks. Hard to find this on other sites.

Hey Clive!

We do have notations underneath our lesson videos. Are you having trouble displaying these? Some videos do not have notations displayed because they are not needed for that lesson (the gear & tone section of a song will not display notations as you are not playing the guitar).

As one of our members suggested, have you noticed the "notation" tab under the video?

Of course I noticed the notation on the bottom and still use them a lot but it could be done better. Thats all I'm saying . Timing is one of my issues and I find 'play along tabs ' very helpful with that.

I have recently viewed a tab for acoustic guitar which is fingerpicking except some chords indicate to strum the notes. No problem, but some notes to strum have a string within the chord that has no fret indicated. It does not have a X indicating to mute it. Am I suppost to strum yet jump over the unused string?

I'd have to see the tab to give you a definitive answer. But in most situations, you have 2 options:

1. Strum but mute the unmarked strings, assuming they should have been marked with a ghost note X.

2. Use hybrid picking. Pluck the bass note(s) with your thumb & the upper register strings with your fingers.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Christopher, It was a Guitar Pro Tab of Stairway to Heaven. I actually tried including it open with the strum. It sounds good to me.
