I'd have to see the tab to give you a definitive answer. But in most situations, you have 2 options:

1. Strum but mute the unmarked strings, assuming they should have been marked with a ghost note X.

2. Use hybrid picking. Pluck the bass note(s) with your thumb & the upper register strings with your fingers.
