Hey people im new here and this is my first thread.

I feel like my guitar is leaving me, i play it, i pratice on it, and i think i wanna keeping doing that and stay at it, and as the days go on, i feel like im loosing my intrest it it, i keeping thinking why should i try to do this i i wont get nowhere, i wanna play and sing at the same time, but since i cant sing thast what is keeping me from going on.

Also if i was to play just guitar in a band or whatever, i would't really want that famous life, its to much, the media and all, it aint for me, so this is another reason, but i wil continue playing guitar and all, cause i wanna get better at it.

what do you people think. (share)

Play because you like to play, play because you like learning new things, exploring new types of music, new sounds, new tones, it's something you can pursue the rest of your life and have fun doing it.

What pstring said..also check out the tricks section and try playing some excercises..pick a style, maybe one you don't usually play and challenge yourself a little. I'm usually a blues, funk, rock'n'roll player..whatever, but I do metal excercises for the heck of it and to improve speed.

Check out some singing lessons, all you need is some encouragement and a friend with patient ears. Good luck.
Accuracy,you say? hmm interesting concept..

while those are good replies, i believe he said that he "lost interest in it" and doesnt want to learn stuff because "it won't get him anywhere".

Do you not have any guitar idols? anything in music you love? if you have a guitar idol, learn his stuff, if you want. or learn some scales. or put it down. whatever fits you.

Kurt had a terrific voice. He was a great songwriter, had an amazing charisma, and his guitar playing, even though people often put him at the bottom of the guitar scale, was totally appropriate and it was there for the song. I have discovered the tremolo thanks to Kurt (on heart shaped box I think) and I have practiced the guitar through lots of nirvana's songs.
Even though I'm more on the blues/rock/shred side now, I sometimes play around some of his licks, or guitar riffs, and I know that they'll stand the test of time. Come as you are will be there 30 years from now, just like smells like teen spirit etc.

Anyways dude, find a friend, a teacher. Your guitar will lead you nowhere, but it will be by your side, like a best friend. Enjoy your trip with her.

yeah, i very much agree with lalimacefollie...
I started off on Pixies, Radiohead, and Nirvana stuff, (then moved on to some 60's stuff and blues, and now my own experimental mush)..
One of the most underated Nirvana songs is "Born On a Junk Yard".. I'll admit i dont know very much about it... it could actually, be a cover... But yeah, some great punk stuff, with out the excessive ego feeding solos, and has got some of the real gut vocals, almost bluesy at points...

Enough of my rant: here's an introductory prestent from one of the guitar trick open forum moderator (ie me). THE NIRVANA SONG BOOK

You can click on the link with the right button, and select "save traget as", and you can save the page and look through it off line... This was the first tab i ever got off the net (a friend sent it to me), and it's great!

HAve fun...*looks for "junkyard"... oh yeah, it was written by cobain*

My voice sucks, too, which was very dissapointing to me when I first heard it played back on a recorder. All I wanted to do was play and sing my favorite songs, Nirvana included. Was that too much to ask?
Fast-forward ten years: I still play and still try to sing, and I'm getting better. Try to emulate the sound of the chord with your voice. Don't try to sing too high if your voice is naturally low. If you just can't make a particular song sound right, try a different one.
Also, work on your instrumental playing, so you don't have to sing!
Don't give up on your music, man, it can get you through rough times.

Sort of going through the same loss of interest. When I analyze it I realize that over the past year I average around 2-4 hrs a day working on my music including studio time. Burn out...time to rest and "play" for fun. I play now only when I reaaly want to, I found that I was feeling really depressed when playing classical, then I decided to change all the songs from minor to major keys, major keys are not depressing. Example a song in a minor I change to A MAJOR OR d MAJOR, NOT BY TRANSCRIBING BUT BY CHANGING THE KEY SIG, I add f# and c# to a minor song, it just sounds happier.
