The strangest thing happened today.
I always knew I got a good deal on my strat,
I paid 400$ and then it costed 1100$ new.
But it was a Limited Edition strat so they're
not making them anymore.
So I thought maybe someone would be interested in
a guitar whos value is likely to go up.
So I wanted to see how much I could get for it.
So I advertised on the internet, I wrote 2 pages
of technical terms I didnt really understand, and
since I wasnt really selling it I thought
I might aswell set the price really high.
I said I wanted 1500$, which I think is too much for a
guitar that costed 1100$ new 2 years ago.
But then this guy emails me and says he has to have that guitar.

AND HE'S WILLING TO PAY 3000$ FOR IT!!!!!

I dont know what Im gonna do.
I mean I dont want to sell my guitar but 3000$ is
alot of money, which could come in handy.
I dont know, maybe you could give me your opinion?

It's tough because you like *your* guitar, irrespective of value,so it will be difficult to replace...

...BUT...Totally Hypothetically...

if you can take a day or so out of work/school (worth it for the potential profit) and play all the strats/strat copies in all the shops you can find, up to say $1500, and you find your model of amp in the shop and you get your sound with one of those strats, and you're sure...

it's a lot of ands and maybes, but I'd say find a soundalike/playalike first ..if you cant then you know the answer.

Internet dealing is fraught with hucksters, idiots, people who don't know what they want and {nasty expletive}s..so just excercise caution.

Happy that your axe has gone up in value, good luck.

:)
Accuracy,you say? hmm interesting concept..

If a V is what you want, I recommend searching for one made by Odyssey. Its a neck-through, all-maple design, with a rosewood fretboard and two humbuckers. I've played both Gibson and Epiphone V's and I can assure you, the Odyssey is better! Apparently this brand was the production of one Vancouver-based luthier who died some years ago. I haven't seen any more examples of his work, but the the one I have is amazing.

Well actually I dont care.
To have a Gibson Flying V is what I've always wanted.
Then if some other brand is better, well, that
doesnt matter to me. I just want it. Bad.

I can respect a man who knows what he wants. Good luck, and success in your search.
