Marshall MG Series MG15CFXMS 15W Guitar Mini Stack

I've been playing acoustic guitar Most my life, just went out and bought myself an electric. For amp, I went with the 40 watt marshall amp. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Marshall/MG-Series-MG15CFXMS-15W-Guitar-Mini-Stack.gc I don't really want the crunch, I want a cleaner sound, at the same time I want the classic rock sound. They have some guides on this, not for this amp tho, and they should, because it is about as good of quality for the buck you will find. The catch, I don't want to play it really loud, I work off hours, I rent an apartment upstairs in a house, my neighbors get up at 5 in the morning. How do I get that classic rock sound at a lower volume? (btw, its listed as 15 watt, the back says 40 watt)

I will add my biggest complaint, two speakers. When you jam live, usually they mic amp, so really only want one speaker, that's easy enough, will that effect the sound? I don't think it would, however, I don't really know.

Also, if it helps, for guitar I went with http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone/Limited-Edition-Les-Paul-Traditional-PRO-Electric-Guitar.gc Again, it was the best quality for the buck. I might buy a fender at a later date, the whole set up is good though, and highly rated by others.

I would say that your best bet is headphones. Is that an option for you?

Otherwise, you can turn the gain up and volume down. Does the amp have a channel volume and master volume?

If you have a channel volume, you can turn that up to get a fuller, more complete tone and then turn the master volume down to keep it from being too loud overall.

Not sure about the mic question. Anyone else have thoughts on that?

yeah, it has a master volume, I have gain at 6, volume at 6 and master about 3, my guitar has tone set to about 8, which is what video said. The amp doesn't have regular marshall settings tho. Instead of tone it has bass, middle, treble, I've turned down bass. Now A nice feature, it has reverb, and the four basic effects built in, it also has crunch and overdrive. Everything is built in. Its not gonna replace a full on tube amp, however it has lots of possibilities. So more volume, less master, more gain?

(btw, not a bad sound, just not as full as your videos.)
