What gague of string are you using and what make are they? Perhaps the action on your guitar is too high so the string tension is more than it can take.

There may be a burr or sharp edge on the bridge saddle.

My problem is the third string, counting from the thinnest;the wounding(sp?) is always coming off at the frets, then the string starts to make buzzing noises, then tuning is a problem(pitch is related to weight, and when the wound comes off,the weight changes).
The other day I bought strings from a different shop;they are strong and don't look like they'll break or anything, but they're oh so dull.I'll have to look foir another brand.

Isaac - in addition open up the plate at the back of the guitar and make sure that the hole in the back of the tremelo block is clear of burrs and the string can fit through cleanly,i had a "fulcrum" bridge guitar which would trap the string before the ball seated - you'd tune up and the string would come loose as it pulled up slowly further up the hole -this only happened on the 6th string, they hadn't made the hole wide enough.

David, it's basic but check your nut isn't obstructing your stings/there isn't any dirt in there and that your bridge/pins are clean/seated correctly.
Accuracy,you say? hmm interesting concept..

It's called "string tension". I used to have that problem until somebody told me how to fix it. All you have to do is open up the back of your guitar and loosen the bolts that hold the tremelo springs. Don't be afraid to mess with the different parts on your guitar a lot of people are scared to mess with anything on their guitar cause they think they'll mess it up and they won't be able to fix it. If it gets to messed up you can always take it to a music store and get it fixed. But messing with your guitar makes it so that it's comfortable for YOU to play, not the person who put it together.

Do be afraid to mess with your guitar unless you have money to buy new one every month.
You cant actualy destroy it that way but you can do a damage to the bridge and to other parts.
My advice is: take the guitar to a closest guitar shop and ask them to setup up the guitar. there are many things the guitar master is doing when setuping the guitar which most of the players dont know so we better leave it to the pro's.
