Most of the time depending on style to get a good solo tone i have my bass all the way, mids at 1 o'clock, and treble at 4 o'clock. now i do play metal and to most this is a very weird set up an amp. the mid tone is your guitar. meaning it cuts throw "meaning you will be able to hear your self better" a band, recording, etc
