I am from Texas, but have been living in Saudi for the past 1 1/2 years. I love listening to music, especially when it is live. Listening to the acoustic guitar playing outlaw Texas Country is my favorite past time when needing to unwind. I have been wanting to learn to play a acoustic for 20+ years, but never put the effort out, just dreamed about how cool it would be......

My first goal is to learn enough to be able to play along or even try hands at singing a few Willie, David Allen Cole or Haggard outside around a campfire to my drunk camping friends. I love listening to music around the campfire or at gathers and I want to join in....I can see myself playing under a tree at Luchenbach Texas one day!

Living abroad gives me more time on my hands, since I have no yard work or chores, so it is a perfect opportunity to get started on something I has always dreamed about.

I am a total beginner, just know the songs that I would love to play in the future. I bought a Fender T-Bucket and Acoustic Amp recently, not knowing nothing about purchasing a guitar. But it sure is pretty.....

I hope your web site really lights the fire under my butt, and gets me to accomplishing one of my life long dreams...

Welcome!

I called San Antonio home for more than a third of a century but retired to Montana and mountains and winters. :D

What a great opportunity you have...extra time and Guitar Tricks on the web. I spent a lot of time in other countries but with no web then and no one to teach me but GT is making up for the lost time.

Welcome again and have fun!

Derek, welcome to GT Community, I assume you are working in the Oil & Gas Industry out there? In any case you have plenty........ of time to work and enjoy your guitar since your limited what you can do off your compound. GT truly has helped my guitar progress the last two years, definitely worth the money and time.

I'm working along side with Troy Construction their subs and inspectors from Texas down here on a pipeline project in Southern Virginia. Be safe out there and have fun with you guitar and buddies.

Best Regards,

Tony

Thanks to All......

I am over here representing Dow Chemical Co, building largest Chemical Plant ever built in one stage. ~30 Billion Dollar Project called Sadara. Joint adventure between Aramco and Dow.

I so impatiant and ready to know what am doing with this guitar....I very much relize it takes alot of practice and time, just ready for that light bulb to come on and for me to relize that I can do this and really start enjoying all the practicing. I am comitted to giving this a go and will give it my all.

When I get fustrated, I put on some old Texas Country Music and know how much I want to learn to play and will.......

I wish I would of started playing years ago...
