Getting a "set up"?
I see a lot of talk about people getting a "set up", or wanting to, and being a new guy to the guitar I wanted to ask exactly what a "set up" is? What work is done ? etc.?

a repair technician or luthier examines your instrument. Will adjust the neck and the string height, checking the condition of the nut and saddle and checking and adjusting the intonation.

I've had my "new" guitar for about 18 months and just had it set up this week. I have to admit that I notice very little difference. The luthier noted that it was pretty well set up to begin with. But, I feel better knowing that it's set up the best that it can be.

Set ups are essential to guitars especially in climates/areas that have "seasons" . Temperature and humidity changes seasonally can dramatically affect the guitars wood and create unwanted playing conditions.

So what should be done after the initial setup to address the changes?
