Envelope Filter

I just bought an envelope filter/ auto wah cheap at a Christmas sale . The question is , be it modulation or be it eq ? I have 2 pedal boards to avoid confusion , one has all things related to modulation ( chorus, delay, reverb etc ) , the other is set up with tuner ,wah , eq , od , distortion , compressor and a noise gate . The modulation board goes into the effect loop of my Egnater Rebel 30 and the other direct to the amps main input . So which board ? Any ideas guys ?
