Why bother posting your guitar playing....
When there's 1,100 views and 4 replies...
I see it all over the place....200 views, no replies..
Have a little respect. If your gonna listen, drop a few words...good or bad...

I'll admit that I've listened or watched some videos on here and didn't say anything. Sometimes it's because I don't really have anything valuable to add (mostly in your case. You seem to have an even better grasp than I do when it comes to improvising. I've mostly been doing covers).

But there are other things from other people that I simply didn't like. And I don't feel like saying anything negative. But it's usually because it's just not my style.

But I do kind of relate to what you're saying. You can see so many views and very few comments. But what's most important is that you like what you're doing.

Hi Axe, maybe in this case it's because Frank looks like a pro guitarist - he seems to be selling the download so it may be a misuse of this forum. But you're right in general - people who put their tracks out there deserve some encouragement and constructive comments. I guess the problem is that there's so much on GT it's impossible to react to every post......Best wishes, Steve

I hear ya, but in my opinion.
If you have the time to listen and the person who posted the track is asking for fb ,and says thanks in advance...and no one drops a line....I find that wrong.....

I am one of the people you are talking to. I have listened to all your posts. The reasons I use when I don't reply are: How do I reply to what is coming from you? What do I have to judge it by? etc..... See, I know my opinion of what is good music, really does not mean anything. There is a lot of music out there I would rather jump off a cliff than to have to listen to for years and Millions of other people Love it.

If I heard you where trying a certain technique and thought I could help, I would reply. Stay at it you have talent. It will be interesting to hear what you post in 3 or 4 months from now.

let me try and make this clear to you hagh5....im not speaking on my behalf..i really don't care if anyone leaves me feedback or not....
I know were im at with my playing, I just post them for the fun of it....

that message was meant for all the players who might of put there heart into it..and he or she would of appreciated some honest fb......
and speaking of you ,if you listen to someone's post and notice there not using any kind of fancy technical playing to suite your needs, your telling me you wont leave fb...you don't have to like someone's playing to leave fb...

have you ever heard the word respect....what you said about my playing that there was no fb to leave, because I didn't use any tech.....well how about the next time you listen to someone's playing and there not using any tech. would it hurt you to say , and use some technique to make your playing better....stop being ignorant and show some respect......

I didn't realize you need to be a pro player for you to leave fb.....

forget about me this was never about me......so your saying it's cool for someone to post there playing, have 1.100 views with one or two feedbacks..
there's something wrong if you think that see that's what the message was intended for...not for you to single me out....

I don't think hagh really said anything ignorant. He's being honest, and he's simply saying that if he doesn't have anything constructive to add, there's nothing useful he can say.

In other words, the people who don't have the experience to post something constructive probably shouldn't post. But instead, it's up to the more experienced players to be honest and leave some constructive criticism. If they have something helpful to say, but don't post it, then that's a different issue.

From your words above I can tell you are not only talking about yourself. You are talking about threads all over the place you see this in.

Have I ever heard of the word respect?

I think I have to agree that we disagree. I think this is about Time not Respect. Just because someone out there takes time out of their life to post something, they should not expect others to take time out of there life to reply. It would be nice if people did, but it should not be expected.

I was trying to respect you by replying in the thread, but it appears it was not taken that way. Maybe if we were sitting at a table drinking a beer this conversation would have gone better.

Did you say,I have no fb for you because your not playing any technique. So there's nothing to judge it by....
Bending is a technique
Vibrato is a technique.
Hammer on /pull off is a technique
You don't need to judge someone's playing just because there not using techniques your interested in....

That's what I got from your message....

B ,he's a big boy that can speak for himself...

I wouldn't normally butt in, but hagh never said anything like that. He never said you're not playing any technique.

He said, "If I heard you where trying a certain technique and thought I could help, I would reply"

If you take that literally, it means if there were any techniques that he could talk about improving, he would. So he's actually saying that he has NO ADVICE which is actually a compliment because he's implying that if anything, you have those techniques down more than he does.

So you see the only reason I said something is because this is clearly a misunderstanding and it's so painfully obvious to me. I hate to see you guys getting into it over a misunderstanding, and I was just trying to point that out. Read his post again. He didn't say anything like you're talking about, and he even said: "Stay at it you have talent."

So it's just confusing how you're responding.

Axe2

Your words:
“Did you say,I have no fb for you because your not playing any technique. So there's nothing to judge it by....”

My words:
“If I heard you where trying a certain technique and thought I could help, I would reply. Stay at it you have talent.”

My words reworded using more words to better say what I meant to say:

You are using different bends, hammer ons and pulls off well. You seem to know what you are doing, so I really don’t have anything to add. Stay at it you have talent.

I am going with this was a misunderstanding.

This whole thread was a misunderstanding...
I am just gonna say this. If all the ppl like yourself left a word or two, that would make a big difference....you don't need to leave advice or any tips etc.....**** even if you don't like there music....anyway I'm done. Happy holidays...
