Im looking at lefty 7 string guitars, I was wondering who out there has a seven string, what brand is it, and is it really worth having (as opposed to drop B tuning).

dude those guitars are cool...but you better be a slick ass player before you go and buy one, the necks are all fat and they got great tone, but they are very unforgiving....i have an ibanez 7 and it rocks , it gets phat ass low end and you can drop tune the ****er to the point that the strings wobble and it still sounds nice...so the bottom line is...if you wanna deep guitar then just get heavier strings and drop your tuning to B (thats my preference)..
i'll take my B.C Rich warlock over my 7 anyday///

7 Strings are useful, depending on what you want to play. http://7strings.free.fr gives you an idea (it's in french though) As for a lefty one, dude, I guess you have to order it at the factory... Ibanez is the biggest 7 strings maker (the rg7 series is affordable, others are way overpriced)

I have an Ibanez 7-string, and I'd say it is DEFINITELY better than downtuning a 6-string to B.(speaking from experience)

Anyway, since you're a lefty, I would seriously consider checking out Carvin guitars.

but if you cant shred the **** out of a 6 string then YOU WILL SUCK MASSIVE BALLS on a 7 string.....all i'm saying is..make sure you're good enough to jam a 7....that extra string WILL **** you up...

Pure hate, I don't really get it. You can start out on a 7 strings... Of course, if you are quite good on a 6 strings, you'll take some time to get used to the neck, to the new eye/hand coordination etc... But come on, it's not a virstuoso's instrument... You can be if you want, but just like on a 6 strings.

I can honestly say that I'm not a good player on a 6-string, but I am just as good/bad on a 7-string. So, this arguement is kinda BS.
