Hello everyone my name is Justin, I have joined Guitar-tricks as I started to play when I was 15 years old. But with work and family commitments my guitar learning came to a halt, when I was 19-20 years old, having not getting as far as I wanted with playing.
I am now 39 years old, and picked the guitar back up last year, as I have had a massive lifestyle change threw becoming disabled, and I needed something to do to take my mind off things, and to give me something to focus on and fill part if not all of my day.
I have never had a lesson and my music theory is vague at best, and I have been learning this time by watching videos on YouTube etc. I can play a few songs, but I want more, So I thought why not join Guitar-Tricks!!!.
I could do with as much help and encouragement as I can get, as on my low days (I have a few) I don't practice, and I know I will get better at playing if I did. I really want and need to play well, and to be good at something again. Thank you for taking the time to read my post,
Kind Regards, Justin.

Welcome Justin. I think many people here have similar experiences where they played when they were younger and then stopped for many years, or some people like me who wanted to but never got to play guitar at a young age and now they are trying it in their 40's, 50's, 60's, and I believe we have some older than that.

Here's a tip that works for me to make sure I practice every day:
Figure out where you spend a lot of time each day and then set up your guitar right there. For me it's in the living room. The wife is watching TV and I am playing guitar with headphones on.

Good Luck!
