Welcome Justin. I think many people here have similar experiences where they played when they were younger and then stopped for many years, or some people like me who wanted to but never got to play guitar at a young age and now they are trying it in their 40's, 50's, 60's, and I believe we have some older than that.

Here's a tip that works for me to make sure I practice every day:
Figure out where you spend a lot of time each day and then set up your guitar right there. For me it's in the living room. The wife is watching TV and I am playing guitar with headphones on.
