First of all, one of the radio DJs on a classic rock station here said that it's called an electric bass, not a bass guitar. What do you guys have to say about that?
Now, for the actual question:
I've been starting to enjoy playing bass for a while now, and I've been also trying to imitate real bassists that I see in the guitar shops when they play slap bass. I don't seem to be able to emulate it for real, though. I can get something close, and maybe I've even invented a new bass technique (yeah, right!), but I can't get the same funky groove happening.
How do you play slap bass? I know it's a combination of slapping and popping, but how do you get that groovy feel?
see you on the dark side of the moon
