Hi everyone!

My name is Susan. I am living in Germany. I would like to learn the guitar online with "Guitartricks". So i have a question. Which kind of guitar would you recommend to beginn with. I am absolutley beginner. I even don“t know how to hold a guitar. So please help me to choose the right one. How much should it cost? I like acustic and e-guitar! Which one is for the beginning better ? Sorry for my english ... Thank you Best Regards from Munich, Germany Susan

Hi Susan, I am new here in Guitar Tricks also and new on playing guitar. I suggest to go a guitar that is more affordable and better feeling for you.

You mention accoustic guitars that is more suitable for beginners. For me I like more electric guitars.

I am completely new to it all too!

I have got myself a Yamaha F310. I've read it is a very good guitar to start off with and I have found it to be true so far!!

You hold the guitar with your hands/arms by the way 😉

I know that Fender and Gibson sell packages that included an entry-level guitar, a small practice amp, cables, etc.; basically everything you need to get started. There are even Acoustic/Electric packages. They range in price from $199 to $349 USD. Go to your local Music Store and talk with someone in the guitar section.
As an alternative I would recommend calling Sweetwater, an online seller here in the US. Ask for Greg Savino and mention my name. We are old friends and he is one of the most well informed Sales Engineers I know. The number in the US is 1-800-222-4700 extension 1357. Just tell him your situation and he will recommend the best package for you.
If I can be of any other assistance please email me @ csar1959@gmail.com.

Hello Susan. Get the best guitar that you can afford. For an electric I recommend the Gibson CustomShop Les Paul R8 ($3700). This is what I have. I got it in Sept.2012`.Go with a electric first. As far a an affordable acoustic goes I highly recommend the Epiphone "Inspired-by 64`" Texan. I have this guitar and it is the best sounding one of my acoustics. I payed $400. US dollars and it sounds and plays better then my Yamaha LS26 ($2300) and my J.L. Signature J160e "Peace' ($2700) and my Takamine EF340 ($750) and my Epiphone J.L. EJ160e ($650). A close second is my Epiphone DR500mce ($600). The E-Sonic on both of them are really versitile and allows you to dial in your tone with easy when plugging in. Get one of the Epiphones before they are gone. They are both excellent choices in that price range and exceed some much higher priced models. You will not be disappointed with one of the two. If you can not swing the Gibson at this time, save you money are try some financing for the Gibson. You will not want or need any other electric for the rest of your life. Welcome and stay motivated with your guitar dreams and make them happen. It is hard work that will change your life for the better. Sure did mine. I am 51 and started playing in 2010`. Take care. From Sioux City, Ia. USA
