Well hi again!I have 2 serious questions for you..FIRST:After e legato you downstroke or upstroke the next note?SECOND:Do you make right legato or you just make a simple reverse hammer on without pull off...but with the help from your amp especially in speed playing?
Do you really believe that guitarists like Slash ,Dave Murrey,Randy Roads and that stuff make right legato with the right teqnicue???Answer please because these 2 questions <> every day!

For the first it depends of the lick you are playing.

What's the right Legato? Of course I do a hammer, because hammers and pull offs are what legato is.

And for the last one, SLash is self taught, so I guess he does everything but the right thing. Randy must be closer to a 'right technique', if that exists...

theres no such a thing "the right way"
because legato is hamer -on or a pull off when it is from note to other, and vibrato when it is the same note..
legato is a move from note to note without picking it again basicly in the terms of the guitar so hamer on is the same as you can see

"They think im crazy..
but i know better.
It is not I who am crazy.
It is I who am mad.."

When i'am talking abour <> legato i am talking only for pull-off...and i mean that many guitarists DO NOT MAKE THE RIGHT MOVEMENT AT THEIR LEFT HAND...THEY JUST MAKE INSTEAD OF A PULL-OFF(I CAN NOT EXPLAIN THE RIGHT..SORRY)A SIMPLE REVERSED HAMMER-ON WITH HELP FROM THEIR AMP!

If you only lift off, you may not produce enough vibrations in the string to generate a clean sound. You could get away with lifting off if you'd pick the string but in legato, you'll probably loose sound. I guess with enough gain and effects it can be done.

I always pull-off. I do most of my legato practice with a clean sound (no distortion) to be sure that I generate enough vibrations. If you can do a good legato with a clean sound, it's gonna sound really good with distortion.

Well, that's my 2 cents anyway..
