hey,
i have a problem: Yes, I can sweep and tap and everything perfectly, but when i am actually on the stage i cant find a sweep that fits the songs we are improvising in. My first question is: All the sweeps i do are more malmsteen type minor sweeps, do u guys know of any sweeps that are satriani like (kind of mysterious and airy feeling)? And, how can i apply sweeps to my improvising so that people wont go, "oh, he did something wierd there and it didnt fit the rest of the solo"?

thanks

Those "airy" Satriani sweeps are usually something like add9s or maj7ths. Also try messing around in the lydian mode. Pentatonic scales can also sound very airy and oriental if you play them right.

if you play something only to show people you sweep, then it isn't worth it.
