Hi everyone, I am a 48 year old teenager that has been making music off and on for 35 years. I started out playing drums in church with my family that played piano, acoustic guitar, and bass. After a few years I graduated to bass guitar and enjoyed playing bass but was always fascinated by a good lead guitar player so at the age of 15 I started teaching myself to play acoustic guitar and later lead guitar. Even though I did learn to play a little my progress was slow and I would frequently loose interest for months at a time. For the past year I have been playing more and more and finally decided that it was time to get help, so I googled guitar lessons and found this site. After watching a couple of sample lessons I learned some things that I had never found on my own and decided that this may be the help I need to take my playing to the next level. So I took advantage of the 1 year special and signed up. I am going through all the lessons even though I could skip over some of the beginner lessons, I don't want to miss anything. I feel like a 5th grader starting over in kindergarten. I am determined to learn this instrument and I feel that its now or never. Sorry for such a long post, I look forward to learning from you guys.
My equipment: Peavey Nitro Limited Edition * Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute Plus * Takamine ETN10BC * Ovation Celebrity CP247 * Peavey Renown 212 amp * Behringer ACX450 acoustic amp*

Yeah! You're why we made this site. Wait until you get to Rock Level 1 and/or Blues Level 1. I have played guitar for years and learned things I didn't know from both those courses. With the patience you are showing, you're going to have a great time and it will pay off.

Thanks so much for telling us!

Welcome!
I, like you have been playing for 30years. But never really knew the instrument. Its amazing how much you can learn here even on the beginner lessons.
I'm really impressing the guys at band practice now!
Have fun!
