Just got it today and am in the middle of the second listen.
What a great album!
Only thing is, there won't be many questions as to any of Alex Lifeson's "Guitar Tricks" on this forum. Nary a guitar solo(or much keyboards)on such a stellar album. It's all in the layering and atmosphere that the guitars comcentrate on and the musicianship and production is excellent.

If you had to compare it to another Rush album, which one would it be the most like?

Well it's got the "edgie" guitar textures like some parts of Counterparts and Test For Echo, but without the keyboards of 80's Rush so the musicianship between the guitars, bass, and drums is taken up a notch and those guys are belting it up a bit more.
Geddy's voice is really kicking!

Bottom line if Signals to Hold Your Fire era Rush wasn't your cup of tea, then this album will kick your butt!

I'm a fan of the older Rush, I still think "Moving Pictures" is Rush at their finest, I'll try to give VT a listen though, I love the songwriting and they do know how to put together an interesting album.........
