Well it's got the "edgie" guitar textures like some parts of Counterparts and Test For Echo, but without the keyboards of 80's Rush so the musicianship between the guitars, bass, and drums is taken up a notch and those guys are belting it up a bit more.
Geddy's voice is really kicking!

Bottom line if Signals to Hold Your Fire era Rush wasn't your cup of tea, then this album will kick your butt!
