Hi!

My band was gonna release it's first EP before new year but we ran into some problems with our band name. Apparently we cannot use it because it's a trademark or whatever somewere else in the world.

We are a pop-punk/rock band. A lot of our tunes sounds like ''anthems'' in my ears at least. Our biggest influence is Blink-182.

I would be thankful if you could suggest some band names. It has to be serious tho. Not from a band generator and not some fun name or whatever.

''Home Town Heros'' was the best suggestion so far but it was taken already, but something in that style! :) 2-3 syllables, a catchy name!

Thanks! God bless you!

A friend of mine use to be in a band that broke up, I always liked their name.

"Night Games"

But they played clubs at night, they weren't selling recorded music.

Thundering, "Forward" "Waves" "5" (thinking 5 person band) "Feel"

Secrets in Sound, Sounds of Secrets, Waves Moving Through, You Hear Us,

Or more off the wall.

Annie's Knee's
The Old Oak Tree
Oak Tree
Racking Leaves Down
Gutter Rockers
Stoppen on Rock

Hopefully something above will give you a laugh or help the rest of you come up with something you can agree on. We had a bass player that really wanted us to be called Goat Breath. Darn near anything has to be better than that.

There was a post in the guitar tech forum that was titled "howling feedback" - I thought that would be a cool band name. That, or a great stage name for a blues player :-).

Here's a list not to use.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pop_punk_bands.
COLD AS ICE
HOT BLISTERING LIX
ORCHESTRATED CONFUSION
Look for similar intersest of the band members. Or "DISIMILAR INTEREST"
Good Luck..

I like Neal's... though maybe better for a less upbeat band.

Ok, here's what I came up (considering your band, Torsten, is a three piece):

1 For Three

You could use any variation, such as "1 For 3" or "One 4 Three" or whatever. Best I could come up with... better than my only other ideas, which were:

Big Bark Bite

Rapid Rabid Rabbit

Guerilla Gorilla

How about Mazel Tov Cocktail. I came up with this years ago and I'll never use it. I think it's a good punk band name. Might be one out there already though...

My mates had a band, years ago. They formed as "Barn Door Savages" and later, "Dead 'Til Dawn", which is similar to one already suggested. One of them is now the drummer with "Psychoholics" and "Penthouse Diva", in the Isle of Man.
I have a name for my band, if I ever get it together. I'd tell you what it is, but you might pinch it!
I've had a hat made for my solo attempts, it's embroidered, "Ramblin' D. Stubottle", over a Strat!
Samick Greg Bennett Royale, Epiphone SG, Tanglewood LP HV58 and Strat copy, Hondo II Professional, Hofner Shorty.

How about using your predicament to your advantage? Something like ...

Nameless

The No-Names

Unnamed

Guys Without Names

Nameless Punk

Or some spin on that sort of idea?

Ah...but what's in a name, or the cover of a book for that matter, well...like a good song it should "hook" you. Like Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, U2, something catchy and weird... say if you were a Christian band...you could call yourselves the "Mustard Seeds" like when Jesus said the Nation of Israel was like a Mustard Seed, the people THOUGHT HUH? What is he talking about...and they were curious and didn't forget...they were "hooked". If you're a punk band, the name should reflect that somehow. Who knows...I'm just "brainstorming"...they're just thoughts...I reserve the right to be corrected...welcome it. How 'bout...Again?...probably taken.

That'll catch.
