Wanted to get a year at guitar tricks but not really willing to pay the $129 or even the occasional $99. Is there any way of paying less for a year? I'd appreciate any member or any admin contacting me :)

One year GT $129, thousands of lessons. One year private lessons, one hour x 52 weeks = 52 lessons @ $30/hour (which is extremely cheap by the way) = $1560. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out.

Guitartricks is really REALLY cheap! Even at 129 bucks you get one heck of a deal.

This is a professional website with thousands of lessons with more added each week. You get to take full courses which would take you a lot of hours with a private guitar teacher. In the forums you can get help from professional teachers.

I cannot see how you would find this to be expensive. Even looking at other paid online guitar recourses Guitartricks' price is lower because of the massive amount of members it has.

Asking for even less to pay is just insulting.

You can try a trial to see just how awesome these lessons are:

I agree with JJ90. GT is so cheap compared to a private teacher that it's almost free. AND every now and then, they make special, rediculously cheap offers, like the "one year + GigMate toolkit + 5 CDs of lessons and Backing Tracks worth roughly 400$ for 99$" that they had when I signed up for a full membership here. That's not expensive at all, really. Especially not when you consider the quality of the lessons here. And the highly helpful forum is only a plus.

So letā€™s say you do join at the $99.99 special and only have time to spend 1 hour a week on the site. Where else can you get 52 hours of enjoyment for $100.00 bucks and of course the deal only gets better the more time you spend at the site.
You could really stick it to them and spend like 2 hours a day on the site for 300 of the days and get 600 hours of enjoyment on their same $100.00 bucks.
$100.00 does sound like a lot and depending on your monthly income it may be. But if you look at it stretched out over a yearsā€™ time combined with how much can be learned on this site, how can it not be worth it?

These replies are not particularly helpful. I understand that this is mathematically speaking good value for money. However; what I asked for was whether there is a way of getting the same thing cheaper - not is it worth it. I won't get it for $100 but I would get it for less

Well Bananakid0 I think you are a little out of touch with reality! If you don't want something that is good go find something cheap maybe on You-tube but you get want you rep. This is a great deal at the price and quality.

To the best of my knowledge the answer is, "No."

There appears to be no transaction here, i.e., a buyer willing to pay what a seller is willing to accept. But I'm curious how much 'less (than $100)' it would take... ;)

So everyone else should "pay the $129 or even the occasional $99". Just not you. You should get it cheaper?

Justinguitar.com is a free site, he has done a good job, no for a free site he has put in a lot of time and effort and made an excellent site. So if money is an issue check him out. If your just looking for a better deal at this site or a shorter subscription time I haven't seen it.

I think this site is an absolute bargain. If anything, just for the library of song lessons with full breakdowns of all parts.

There is no comparison to the cost of in person lessons. Having taken personal lessons, I think these are better.

Not sure if it still exists or not, but when I joined around 5 years ago, you could pay month by month. That might be more of what you're looking for rather than having to come up with a large chunk of money all at once?

They do have that still. That was how I signed up a year ago. My first month went so well, I jumped on the $99 for a year offer when it came up.

Thanks everyone for speaking on the value of a Guitar Tricks membership. We strive to provide the absolute best online video instruction available, and feel that our promotional $99 deal can't be beat anywhere when you consider the quality of lessons and knowledge of our instructors. There is a cost to produce the product we sell, and unfortunately $99 is the best price we can offer for an annual membership.

As mentioned, I encourage you to sign up for a trial and experience for yourself the value in a Guitar Tricks membership! www.guitartricks.com/trial
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact us.

Yeah... $8.25 a month is chump change considering what this site provides.

Dont know if anyone has asked you this before, but when you walk in to the supermarket to buy some grocery.

Do you ask them about changing the price as well?

I very much doubt that you will find any other site/course of the same quailty for less $$. The only rivalry that guitartricks has is jamplay which is similar in price. I joined jamplay for a month and was not impressed, i much prefer it here at guitartricks.
I think if the site was to reduce its fees then things may go down hill in terms of standards. In that respect i would erge them not to do it.
For me personally i see my membership here at guitartricks as an apprenticeship, afterall to become an acomplished guitarist is gonna take some time. It will take even longer if you decide to jump from one resource to another.
As was mentioned before there are free alternatives such as justinguitar.com with justin sandercoe or of course youtube by random people and not necessarly proper instructors.
Good luck whatever you choose x

I had checked them out too. I came here for price and the fact that somebody I work with recommended it. One thing I did notice is their song lessons are on the heavier side, featuring a lot of metal.

What didn't impress you about jamplay and why you like it better at guitar tricks? Just curious.

Thanks.

I noticed that as well! The majority of the instructors over there were metal influenced. At least the instructors here are more diversed in terms of style and genre, pretty even i would say.
The main reason i went with guitartricks is because of the way it is set up. It is much more simpler here and all the guess work has been taken out. I think the Core Learning System is a fantastic introduction for anyone wanting to take up the guitar from beginner level. The way it branches out into blues, rock, and country level 1 and then level 2 is great.
I prefer the fact that here you have just the one instructor taking you through the fundamental stages. At Jamplay just about all of the instructors take you through their version of fundamental stages and there is so much contradiction between each one it got me confused and fustrated.

Hi,

I think that the question to ask is this:

What am I expecting to learn and can guitar tricks help me to achieve my goals effectively?

if you know EXACTLY what it is that you want to learn and know that you can learn THIS from guitar tricks effectively, then you will focus less on the money and more on the results.

You have a good reason for picking up your guitar and playing. What is your reason? and how will paying the price tag help you to develop and enjoy more and more?

I hope that this is helpful :)

Dave
