Strum pattern help

I'm a beginner still but I can do the boom chick. I have an acoustic guitar and I like country music.
for the Song .. forever and ever amen. (Randy Travis)
Is it a boom chick strum or a D D dudu
or am I way off base please suggestions Thanks

I'm not sure but I think she may be asking if it's a pluck on the D string twice then a down-up-down-up strum. Other than that, there seems to be some information lacking.

Hi ladymusic1,

You're not way off base at all, it's a good question. There are usually many layers of guitars being used in a recording and that makes it hard to pick out a "one guitar" part.

Without doing a full lesson on this one it sounds like boom-chick is at the core of the guitar playing with some chick-ah-chick-ahs (DUDU) thrown in subtly.

To me it sounds good as just boom-chick or boom-chick chick-ah-chick-ah.

Well I learned something new!! I haven't gone through any of the strumming tutorials, so that may be why I've never seen it.
