I've always wanted to learn how to play guitar. So at the late age of 52 I'm jumping in with both feet and give this a good 6 months to see what happens. For now, I have a beginner guitar that was a Christmas present to my kids a couple years ago. It's an Austin AA30-D. I had it restrung and setup by a local guitar shop here in Denton Texas. It should be enough to at least find out if I can play worth a darn. This is my second week and my fingers don't hurt too bad.

Long term goal is to get good enough by August to reward myself with a better guitar. Maybe a Yamaha 700 series or a Seagull S6.

Welcome. I have a seagull s6. i bought it 12 years ago. It's a great guitar, especially for the money. It was one of the easiest to play acoustics i could find. It still plays great today. I used it a lot when i played in our church contemporary choir.

Good luck and have lots of fun.

Hi SF, and welcome!

I'm glad to know you had the guitar set up properly, because that will make it a lot easier on you as you learn the basics.

And, I'm rooting for you and your goal to graduate to a better guitar when the time is right!

Go for it -
We're all behind you.

Best - Lisa
