There were interesting pools back in the 80s where you would find 'best studio' or 'best experimental' but people would just vote for the guy they knew in that category (I remember VAI was tie for experimental with David TORN, now people who have some knowledge of the question know better, right? Just because he makes weird noise with his guitar doesn't make him experimental...) And some of the better guitarists have never been mentioned in there. Just like Andy SUMMERS, or Shawn LANE...

I too do believe that Tremonty(who cares if I spell his name wrong!!!)is rather a little, just a little(giggle), overrated. But as far as modern guitar bands go, he's like the best of a bad bunch. His riffs can be quite solid, but lacks in the soloing department as many of the "nu" bands do. But thats the way it is for now. But they are so many really talentet guitarist out there. I think it's time people like Tremmy and co, stepped aside n let some real axe wielders into the mainstream.

I'm sorry, but that pink-goatied-beer-drinking-bad-words-saying-guitarist should have an attitude that's more inspiring to young musicians... He has been voted for best overall, and even though he has some chops, he said himself he couldn't be compared to monsters like Mc laughlin...

Sorry. Heh, I guess his mom just didn't know how to spell when she named him. *shrug*

I do not discard him at all!! But I think that when you're on the cover of a mag read by teenagers, I'd rather see someone that has an apparently clean life (VAI, for that matter, or anyone that brinks less than a gallon of beer per interview) it's a matter of ethics...

I hate Creed. Simple as that.

Maybe if had never met up with the other Creed members he'da made a halfway decent shredder but winning out over other more deserving artists is absurd. It's a little ironic don't ya think.

mark is awesome. he deserves the awards that they gave him. i'm not sayin that because i worship him, but if i got as far as he did i would like people to support me not critize me. but anyway he is awesome. probably better than most of us.
