Great quote brenoazzi, I can totally relate to that one.

At the time it was on sale for 99$ and I had a 25$ GC gift card and found a 20% off coupon on the internet, so I got it pretty cheap. It is going for 149.00 currently, but I love it!

I use Garageband which is free...except for the part where you have to buy a Mac to have it.

I mean, is it the be all? It isn't but it works very well getting my stuff down and I've been able to get some pretty solid results.

I know people who use free programs like Garage Band and Audacity. Then all you need is a $50 USB audio interface and you should be good to go. I personally use Sonar X2 which is like $300 or so. Excellent tool but expensive.

I have recently tried Reaper and I must admit it's kinda cool. It's not free but you can apply for a discount and it will cost just 60 $. You just need a cheap microphone and you're ready. A cheap version of SM 57 is all you need

Look at the Tascam Pocketstudio, its a portable 4 track or 8 track recording device. It has 2 CONDENSER Mics built into them and they will pick up anything near you. They also have 2-4 inputs for direct recording options.

I have one and they are pretty sick, its about 200$ when i bought it, so now they are probably a lot cheaper. Seriously check them out because you never know when you might get that ONE SUPER COOL GUITAR RIFF in your head and you have nothing to record it on..

Hey all. For a quick, portable solution I love AmpKit on my iPhone (or iPad/iPod). You need a dongle for it and you will probably drop some coin on additional gear in it, but it is very much worth it to have an excellent little amp and cabinet modeller/pedal set/tuner/backing track player/recorder/metronome in your pocket. Highly recommended.
