I am trying to figure out the substitution/passing chords in Albert Lee's version of "Can Your Grandpa rock and Roll Like This".
I have the basic 1-4-5 structure down but am stuck on the transitions.
Basic chords don't seem to fit !

Any assistance would be appreciated

Hi capnchasjr,

I just listened to that one, that's a lot of passing chords! Too many for me to answer in a thread. Sounds lesson-worthy.

... Don't know the song but,

... What would happen if you first picked out the passing chords as individual notes and then fleshed them out with a bit of trial and error?

... Another thought, are you playing the basic 1-4-5 using the same chord positions as the original?
I've had a perfectly wonderful evening... this wasn't it!
