Hi Everybody,
I use to play years ago, took lessons for a few months then went off buying books and sort of self teaching. I played for several years, enjoyed it a lot but as time passed guitar playing went by the wayside and in financial troubles they all got sold off.
Well last week I decided I really wanted to play again, so I bought a new guitar and have been playing 2 to 4 hours a day for the last week. Holy crap! I don't remember it hurting this much at first, I got a huge blister on the tip of my left ring finger. I miss my calluses. Hopefully I get them back soon.
Anyway i signed up for the free membership here as this site has me intrigued. An I figured I'd try out some of the free lessons and possibly in the future sign up for the paid membership.

Hey Rob
It's pretty difficult to find any drawback to online lessons the way they do it here. It might not be perfect but it's way beyond anything I've found either online or personal instruction. The resources are fantastic.
I started with the monthly fee lessons and quickly found this was the real thing so I purchased the year at the discount. Either way the value is way more than they're charging for.

Hey robgravesny (and the rest of you)!

Those calluses will be back before you know it. I still lose mine sometimes when I stop practicing a certain technique (like thumb fingerpicking for example), but after some serious practice they're back. :)

2-4 hours a day sounds really good, you'll make lots of progress quickly.
