Nah, he's way closer to Slash's sound than Eddie's. Eddie would have a ton of tapping in there, along with pinch harmonics. Caponi, you're an excellent player... I checked out all three of your videos on YouTube. I think as far as the "I wanna sound like Slash" thing goes, you've got the speed and the note selection down. Just need to work more on the vibrato and bends more... that being said, you're playing way better than I can, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Hey Caponi14.
I did the same as Slippin did. I really enjoyed Ain't Life Grand. I don't know if the bends and vibratos were spot on, but they sounded real good to me.
Good job, good luck and keep on Picken"

My bad, I didn't mean to say the bends and vibrato were bad at all... just not enough of them. I think its a very subtle but integral part to Slash's style, and when I listened to/watched the videos, what struck me was that while the runs were good, you weren't taking enough "breaks" like Slash does, by adding enough bends or vibrato, not that your technique is bad. Sorry for the confusion.

It didn't sound "Eruptiony" to you? As far as the hammer on/pull of sections at least.

I think with Slash we tend to think old school GNR "Appetite" and "November Rain"... but Slash definitely has that rock/blues rippin fast licks sound in a lot of his playing in the last ten years. I think Caponi got it mostly right, but as I mentioned, maybe just not throwing in enough bends and vibrato. Eddie has a very different tone, his tapping is more.. I don't know how to describe it... more "classic metal"? just more intricate two hand tapping, using the whammy bar (which Slash doesn't at all) and the scales Eddie uses are again, more "metal rock" or whatever you want to call it, where Slash tends to use more pentatonic based scales. I think if you YouTube Slash's Snakepit stuff, you'll see him playing stuff that its pretty obvious Caponi was trying to emulate. But that's all just my opinion.

Thanks alot guys. I really appreciate your feedback :) I will throw in more bends for sure, now that you say it.

Hey, Caponi. I've read your posts for a couple years, now and I also recall the first vid you posted. I always thought that you are are a much better player than you seem to think you are and you worry too much. :) That rocked; very cool!
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
