Not really... I think with Slash we tend to think old school GNR "Appetite" and "November Rain"... but Slash definitely has that rock/blues rippin fast licks sound in a lot of his playing in the last ten years. I think Caponi got it mostly right, but as I mentioned, maybe just not throwing in enough bends and vibrato. Eddie has a very different tone, his tapping is more.. I don't know how to describe it... more "classic metal"? just more intricate two hand tapping, using the whammy bar (which Slash doesn't at all) and the scales Eddie uses are again, more "metal rock" or whatever you want to call it, where Slash tends to use more pentatonic based scales. I think if you YouTube Slash's Snakepit stuff, you'll see him playing stuff that its pretty obvious Caponi was trying to emulate. But that's all just my opinion.
