All of these solos, in my opinion, take the feeling of the songs and bring them to a new level.

There was another thread called "New Rock", where some people wondered why we need solos at all - I think that the above list shows why I think that solos are essential - you can convey a certain amount of emotion with singing and music, but a guitar solo can take it over the top. I don't think any of these songs would be better off with more complex chords and no solos.


I also want to add my vote with those who mentioned "Still Loving You", "Since I've been Loving you", and the GNR tunes.
