Just after making a breakthrough on how to properly hold my guitar
in a ideal comfortable position . I cut my index finger really deep trying to cut a onion .

I have tough band-aid but it now looks like it will take probably the whole weekend for it to heal :(

That sucks! I hate when that happens while inspiration is flowing! They should make special fingertip protectors for guitar players that we can use while cooking etc. :)

I once had to use superglue on a really bad popped blister so that I could play... NOT recommended though! :D But I really had to be able to play, and it worked...

Aye I have half a mind to pick up my guitar and start jamming away . But I promised to help my girlfriend with reorganizing her condo . I'm in Canada and it's the long weekend so this will be the only time to get it done.

Anyways no worries , hopefully by Monday it will be all better.

When I was in college (back when Ben Franklin discovered electricity and we read by candlelight) and in my 'serious' playing and practicing mode, I worked at restaurants for a living. I have had more of those days....man...Working in a Chinese joint, you cut stuff including yourself....

Let it heal and don't push it. Use the time to review stuff and (mentally) recap on things you may have let fall by the wayside.

Well it's Monday and while my finger has healed tremendously my cut hasn't closed and so I tried to fret a few notes .

Suffice to say I don't feel totally comfortable on how my cut is looking and with that I can't play confidently. Going to book a appointment with my Doc and get it looked at .

I think that we've all been there at one time or another. I used to both drive and pit on dirt track stock cars. One night when I was pitting, our driver got involved in the aftermath of another cars wreck, and a piece of the other car came off and jammed into the suspension. I was working around to free it with a bar, and decided that I needed more leverage. I can now say with firsthand knowledge that one will not play guitar for about three weeks after getting a firm grip on a hot manifold.
We grow too soon old, and too late smart.
