Hi Steve!

You will do just fine with your acoustic guitar. There are tons of lessons on the website that are taught for, and on, acoustic guitar.

That being said, the fundamentals of guitar playing, such as chords, scales, theory, are the same on electric and acoustic guitar. The notes are the same, the electric guitar just has more frets.

If you later want to dig deeper into styles like rock and metal you'll be better off with an electric guitar. But, until then, your acoustic will do just fine.
