what are some tricks and techniques you guys use

some of mine are
8 finger tapping
pick slides
take my picking hand and mute the strings by the nut and play legatoe with my left
play chords with my rite and solo with left
play same lick with both hands in different octaves at same time
(i got alot more but you get the idea)

any suggestians would be great and btw i am not using these to impress people i am using these to challenge myself to be able to bust out lick in as many different situations as possible with any type of restriction so any tip would help thanks

i think we shuld have a section where people can post their own techiniques they use. it could really help people...but back to the topic....
bend a note and flick my pickup switch really fast ton create a vibrato effect
use a finger on my rite hand and put it on a low fret like the 3rd and i use my left hand to do open string licks but pullingoff to where my right hand is...

Tapping and then sliding with your tapping hand. I usually do it all the way from the 1st string to the 6th string.

I usually tap on the first string a couple of times then I slide two frets down from the fret I was tapping on, then I just do the same slide on the string above it and so on. Did that help? Another trick I do is when I play legato in the 5th-8th I sometimes bend the string with my right hand by the tuners. :)
And when you do a trill you can switch pickups really fast to creat a kind of wah wah sound or similar. Yngwie Malmsteen does that sometimes. :P
