Band names

Any good suggestions for band names for me to use? My style that I play is Alt Rock/Hard Rock.

naming bands are like naming pets ,or children ...would you ask a total stranger to name your child or pet ?

Pet maybe, child most likely not. You can always get idea from other people though. If it's a good name use it.

When we were on the road, we used to gig until 2 or 3 AM. We would get back to the hotel, or sometimes bandhouse and start winding down from the performance. This usually took 3-4 hours, so we would be ready to crash at 6 or 7 in the morning.

One bandhouse in Florida, had a separate apartment above it. There were 4 dudes that had a metal band, and they all worked graveyard shift. These guys would get off work at 7 AM, and start practicing about 10-11 AM. This was prime sleep time for us, since we had sacked out a few hours before. I could sleep on a rock pile, but all the other guys were griping about it. So I told them to go talk to them, and they would probably understand. Of course then everyone started coming up with excuses of why they couldn't do it, everything from I wouldn't know what to say, to being too much of a redneck.

Anyway, I decided I would go talk to them. They were cool about it, and we did work out a solution. They said while we were there, they would practice a few hours later. The next day, when I heard the first one arrive I went to talk guitars. This guy had a red BC Rich Bitch, like the purple one I'd had a couple of years before. He said they were trying to name their band, so I suggested they call it Graveyard since they all worked that shift. The other members didn't like that one, they liked Nightshift, but it was already in use by at least a couple of hundred bands at that time. I left and went back downstairs, and told the guys they were trying to name their band. Our steel guitar player spoke up and said they should call it Wake up call. Then I said that it had been a Rude Awakening the first morning we heard them. They didn't go with that one either, not even sure what they decided to call it.

You can use that one if you want, if not that's fine too. I will give you this piece of advice, just in case you're still trying to come up with one. Pay attention to what others say about your music, and you might hear that great name that just clicks for you. Don't try to come up with something catchy, that can put you in the cliche column. It's better to try to describe yourselves, and as I said earlier listen to what others say about the music, and the band.
