Hi there, Just wanted to introduce myself. Name is Francis and Ive been playing for about 20 years now. Self taught, no professional training what so ever. I used to play heavy metal like Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and etc. But I now play acoustic guitar more. I joined because I feel like my playing is stuck. All the song i learn all sound the same to me. I play Ovation guitars and love them. Here are some of my performances I have done.

Here my daughter and I at her schools talent show. She is playing one on my Ukuleles and I am playing my Ovation.

Hi Francis,

It's so great that you're involved in your child's music performance like that. It makes such a difference to have that influence and support as a kid. I think it can make such a huge difference in a person's life, having a musical outlet at such an early age (it did for me!!).

Thanks Neal, I know what you mean. When I first started teaching my self to play guitar, I wanted to show my parents what ive learned, but all they said was that i was just making noise. That stuck with me until now. So I told myself that I will never do that to my kids or my nieces and nephews. Im teaching my two nieces guitar and my nephew the uke. My daughter is teaching herself the uke as well. I just love to perform with all my kids, (meaning my kids and nieces and nephew). We try to put on a show every Christmas for the family to enjoy. Here is the very first one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0ssX3cxOFM . Ill post up more performances as we perform....

Yeah, parents don't know what that does to kids, discouraging playing. It's good that you do! Now you can inspire a generation of musicians! :)

I'm doing the same with mine.
