The Magic of Chord Theory: New Tutorial!

Hi all,

Just wanted to give a heads-up about a brand new tutorial here on GT called
Intro to the Magic of Chord Theory

For those of you who are just getting started with Music Theory,
this could be a good place to get the basics of chord theory down.

What is Chord Theory? Chord Theory is an aspect of music theory
that is especially useful for guitar players of all skill levels.
Chord Theory informs the chord choices that are made when playing and writing songs and instrumentals.

Chord Theory is the 'system behind the magic'
that allows guitar players to:

• Figure out how to play songs by ear
  



• Transpose songs from one key to another
  



• Jam and improvise solo or with other musicians
  



• Write their own songs and chord progressions

In this tutorial you'll learn all about that simple and powerful equation,
plus much more. You'll also learn how to really put this information to use in your guitar playing.

Intro to the Magic of Chord Theory teaches a systematic understanding of chords and keys that is useful to guitar players of all styles and all skill levels.

For many of my students, an understanding of basic chord theory has proved to be a fast-track ticket to playing guitar with much greater ease.
