i went to a estate sale in my area just the other day.
i cant believe my luck.
i bought a 1950 fender esquire for $300.
this guitar is worth WAY more than i paid for it.
on a scale of 1-10 the guitar is a solid 8.
what cleaner and polish would you guys suggest for
a lacquar finish?
im preping it for pics that have been requested
by fender.

I frequent the yard sales and flea markets looking for just such deals. So far, no luck for me :( Congrats!
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

the thing that caught my eye first off was the themometer case.
this case is very oldschool and i knew of it already.
its called that because it looks like a old themometer.
when they pulled it out of the closet my heart started pumping.
ANYTHING that came in that style of case is worth at least a small
fortune. the case alone brings cash.
the case looks like its maybe 6yrs old.
the capo is with the guitar. you wouldnt believe oldschool capo's.
crazy looking.

i had a friend that went by a house at a garage sale
he helped the folks get some things out of the upper garage.
he noticed a guitar case and asked if the guitar was for sale.
"h3ll yes it is" the man told him. bought it for my son yrs ago, he just had to have it. i'll sale it to you cheap if you just get it out of here.
60's SG. mint. i think i have him beat on this. lol

a good friend i work with talked with his brother today.
he works for a dealer and knows a good bit about this guitar.
he showed me where a 1952 model was on the antique road show back in 2007.
it was valued at $35,000. mine is two yrs older and out of a very limited run.
this is getting very interesting.

the guitar is going to george gruhn up in nashville to get
taken apart, authenticated and put back together, cleaned up
and stored in a safe deposit box.
next stop will either be a museum or the hard rock cafe.
on loan. higher quality photos to come soon.
