Looking for a kid's guitar for my 6 yr old son
My boy just turn 6 and appears to have an interest in guitar. My guitars are obviously too big. I read a few reviews on amazon and one said a 30" hohner nylon acoustic was too small for his 7 yr old. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

There are some begginer guitars at toys r us
they have that brand first act
they have guitars for 3-5, 6-8, and 9-15
The only thing is they would be the right size, but they sound like crap

My daughter (10 yrs old) just got an Ibanez Mikro which is 3/4 scale. You can see a few places where saved some money. The nut looks like it belongs on a toy and the sound is a little hollow, even when unplugged, compared to my RG-170. But considering the price($130), I am pretty impressed. I find myself playing it more than I expected.
It may still be kind of big for a 6 yr old but they grow fast. This Mikro doesn't look, to me, like a disposable guitar.

Thanks for your replys. So far his only requirement is that it has a dinosaur on the front. So I'll get a sticker (light adhesive)of a Trex and plaster it on the front. I think I'll try a 3/4 size with a thin neck, he's growiing real fast.

I would even try him out on an electric. They're usually heavier, so make sure he wears a strap, and start him out sitting down. Get a small amplifier too.
The reason I mention it: Electrics are easier to fret than acoustics (even nylon string).
Start out with some easy power chord songs, and that'll help his confidence when he can actually play a song in no time.

Keep up the good work at encouragement! :p
