sorry man but what I would do is play until they are like super sore or even bleeding happened to me more than once and then stop for a little and try again later eventually the skin on the fingers will get thicker and form caluses and they will stop hurting.

I'm not sure about the bleeding part but yes I just had to grin and bear it. It will come to an end and you will find you can practice for longer periods. Good luck.

yea that is kinda what I meant but for me my finger bled a little because I played a little to much which stings horribly. but on the plus side you could feel a little bit like Pete Townsend when his fingers bled on stage :)

Im 12 and my fingers are bloody sore. ha ha get it. yeah, mine hurt as well. before i couldn't write with a pen at school. but i kept playing and playing and playing. and now they are strong as. i can poke a pin into my fingers and i wont feel a thing,it is so cool. so my advice, even if its painful keep playing and you will get there.

good luck dude. let me know how you go.

Definitely stick it out, but aside from that I have a simple suggestion - just take it a little bit easy at first. Playing until your fingers bleed (or even close to it) is counter productive because then you'll have to take enough time off to heal. Better, in my opinion, to keep your practice sessions a little shorter than you'd like, but keep practicing every day.

Let your fingers be your guide. When they get sore to the point that it's harder to form chords because of the pain, stop. Maybe you'll only get 10-15 minutes a day at first, but keep at it - callouses will form and your practice sessions will gradually get longer.

Good luck -
