So, I'm selling / sold my Peavy Valveking. It's a 100w head/cab.
It's got ballz for sure. I love it. However, it just sits and collects dust.

I'm going to instead, take some of that money and put it back into my vintage Solid State 1969 Kustom tuck and roll amp. It was my grandfathers who passed it and his old Mosrite down to me. This is an old school analog amp. Nothing digital in it at all, thus is doesn't have a digitial sound to it.

So far I've installed a master volume control between the pre-amps and power amp. Just ordered some new Eminence Ragin Cajun drivers and two new replacement transformer noise filter caps. Next, I'm planning on replacing all the electrolytic caps. I've heard that electrolytic caps do degenerate over the years, so, sounds like a perfect place to bring things back up to snuff.

I'll also be installing aheadphone jack.

Thanks... It's growing on me. I snubbed my nose at it for the longest time because it wasn't a tube amp, but it's growing on me. And it really is a sweet amp.

Finally got my last two electrolytic caps in. They filter power supply noise and what not. Also just got my Eminence Ragin Cajun drivers installed.

Oh man.... What an incredible upgrade. This amp is so clean, articulate and at the same time can get soooooo NASTY! (in a great way). Easy to get that 80's growl out of it. What an amazing amp. Definitly NOT a one trick pony. 2 channels 2 inputs each and none of them sound similar they all have their own distinct characteristics.

You'd never guess this was a 40 year old solid state amp.

Old stuff is so cool. Why is that?? Glad your upgrades are working out. I find it's usually as good as getting something new!
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

Well.. I have to get a mic first. Then I need some way of getting that signal into my laptop. I'd need to do some research on it.
