You can learn lots in 4 months. I don't know if that's an answerable question over the 'net, to be honest. It depends on your natural ability to take to the instrument. At this point, only you will know that.

I think under any circumstances, you might be able to pull off a song or two but it takes real time, even if it comes naturally, to really have the confident and natural feel.

Good luck!

Def true. Only you will know what you can accomplish in that amount of time. As for my personal experience, I just started learning guitar about two months ago and I can play 5 full songs and a dozens of other random verses and what not.

Guitar Fundamentals 1 and 2 are a BIG help, and the teacher is the best one on the internet. I'm almost done with Fundamentals 2, and I feel great about my guitar skills already. If you listen to what he says and follow along, you should accomplish a whole lot.

It is very possible. All you have to do is keep your mind on the prize, and have that hunger everytime you practice. But dont just practice but intensive focus practice.

it's going to depend mostly on how much you practice for those 4 months and what you consider a good song. There are many songs that I consider good with only 3 or 4 chords. If you expect to play some song with a crazy solo then I doubt it unless you are truly blessed with ability but don't let that stop you from trying.

That's all you need, is to give your best, if you gave your best, but in the end your slightly off of your goal, dont beat yourself up about it. Because you know you put everything you had into your practice.

Hey phoelix,
With dedication, and some good old determination you can learn plenty in 4 months. I think you should know though, that it's not really like guitar hero. Guitar hero doesn't involve strings, but learning to play a real guitar does. They can be a little rough on your hands, so don't overdo it at first. Your fingers will let you know when you need a break, and when they get sore it may be best to wait a day before going back to it. Try it then, and if your fingers are still really sore, wait a little longer.

Persistance is okay, and after you get used to it you can practice longer. Just don't overdo it, so you can keep on learning to play. In 2-3 weeks you should have some callouses built up, and as long as you continue to play your fingers won't get as sore. One other thing, learning on an acoustic can be tougher on the fingers, because they usually have a heavier guage strings on them.

lol, yeah you're right. But i have to confess that i got some motivation to learn guitar by playing that game XD.

I have started yesterday with the fundamentals lessons just after i bought my first electric guitar, and i'm very exited about this, i have only learnt some basic stuff about the guitar and started to stretch my fingers a little :D because at the beginning its difficult to reach several frets at the same time (specially with the pinky), but it was something that with a little effort i became a little use to. Other difficult that i had to face was to avoid muting some strings with the left fingers while playing a specific chord, i guess the accuracy will come with some practice.

Ok, let's see how much i can learn from here. Thanks again for your advices...
