Hi evilbeholderr,

Have you ever tuned your guitar one string at a time along the 5th fret and when you get to tuning the b string you have to play it on the 4th fret of the g string instead of the 5th fret like all the other strings?
like this:

5th fret of low e to tune the a string
5th fret of the a to tune the d string
5th fret of the d to tune the g string
4th fret of the g to tune the b string and
5th fret of the b to tune the e string

In the lesson, the note is backed up 4 frets instead of 5 to compensate.
Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the proper answer, Neal! :)

If you look at the fretboard images on this lesson it might help you see and understand the issue better:

Hope that helps! Let us know how it goes.
