I have to admit I'm mostly replying to enter the contest. I've never played electric before, just acoustic. What does electric open up for you when you play besides volume?

I am new to guitar playing. However I did consider scale length after reading an article on this subject in 'Guitarist' magazine. It all makes sense, however two thoughts entered my mind. Firstly, a boring but obvious comprimise would be to produce a guitar with a scale length that sits in the middle i.e. 25.125? Secondly, surely with all the great amps and effects on offer, any slight deficit in tone between the two standard scale lengths can be compensated for?

I been thinking about buying a Telecaster as my first "real" electric. It would be sweet to win one. Enter me in man!
